Local Businessman Shot Dead

A local businessman of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay was shot dead evening of August 8 by an unidentified person police reports said.
The victim, identified as Jeffrey Nueva Morsia a.k.a “Lalang”, 52 years of age, married and a resident of Purok Orchids Barangay Poblacion of the said town owns a motor shop and is engaged in lending business.
According to the police report Morsia was having a drinking session with a friend named Joseph Celestial around 8:40 in the evening at a store in Barangay Don Andres, same town.
Witnesses said that the suspect was outside the store and shot Morsia at the back of his head resulting to his immediate death. After the incident, the suspect ran eastward from the crime scene. The police recovered from the scene one fired cartridge of calibre .45.
The motive of the shooting is unknown and police are still investigating on the case and for possible identity of the shooter.
