Authorities Arrests another Aussie Kidnapping Suspect

Barely a day after authorities captured Hasim Calon, sub-leader of the Ali-Barahama Alih kidnap-for-ransom group, another suspect involved in the kidnapping of the Australian national was arrested, morning of August 21 in Payao, this province.

The suspect, Marjuk Dacula was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of kidnapping for ransom issued in the Regional Trial Court (RTC) branch 24 in Ipil.

Dacula was arrested by the combined forces of the PNP and AFP in an operation in Barangay Silal, Payao 8:00 in the morning of the said date.

Police records revealed that Dacula is number 1 in the drug watch list of the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Police Office (ZS-PPO) and is involved in selling and transporting illegal drugs in the municipalities of the province. (KAVM)
