12 people injured in highway accident

THIRTEEN people, including a six-year-old girl, were injured in a vehicular accident along the highway of Kabasalan town, this province the police report said.
Police Officer 3 Roxanne Vergara, assistant information officer of the Provincial Police Office, disclosed the incident occurred August 28 at around 9 a.m. in the village of Nazareth, Kabasalan municipality.
The victims were identified as the following: Fernando Manera, driver; Irenefe Torefranca, 52; Noel Torefrana, 52; Petchie Bartolome, 34; Ronelo Laquinon, 49; Norleen Dumrique; Fe Laquinon, 75; Kurby Bartolome, 13; Kurt Kobey Bartolome, 14; Justin Parenas, 13; Luke Mib Laquinon, nine; and Jainara Parenas, six.
Vergara said investigation showed the victims were aboard a truck driven by Manera travelling from Lanao del Norte to Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
Manera lost control of the steering wheel and bumped a parked motorcycle and crashed on a waiting shed that resulted to the injury of his passengers.
The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
