4 persons may face illegal firearms raps

FOUR persons may face jail terms over illegal possession of firearms after they were apprehended in a checkpoint in Kabasalan town, this province.

The suspects were identified as Alexander Jimenez, 36, a resident of San Jose, Imelda; Marlito Porras, 31, a resident of San Jose, Imelda; Gilbert Alpa, 26, a resident of Don Andres, Ipil; and Sheahoney Ramos, 22, a resident of Veterans Village, Ipil.

According to police, the four were travelling August 17 at around 11 in the evening on board two motorcycles traversing the national highway in convoy on their way to Ipil when they were flagged down at a checkpoint in Barangay FL Pena, Kabasalan town.

The four were first apprehended to “unauthorized wearing of camouflage PNP uniform.

After body search, however, police personnel were able to discover illegal firearms and prohibited drugs in their possession.

The police were able to recover from Porras a pistol tucked on his waist, a caliber .45 pistol (make: Shooters; model: Commodore) with SN: SC4500241 loaded with magazine with seven live ammunitions and one live ammunition loaded on its chamber.

Recovered from Jimenez’s possession were four small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride popularly known as “shabu” enclosed on a small plastic container and attached with a paper tape beneath his helmet.

The police further recovered from Alpa’s possession and control a drug paraphernalia.

Arrested persons and items recovered were brought to Kabasalan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. ###
