Wife of OFW losses P300,000 to burglars

A WIFE of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) lost more than P300,000 to burglars in the province, the police reported.

Senior Supt. Celso Bael. Provincial police director, said the incident occurred August 27 at around 1 a.m. at Sitio Tuburan, Poblacion, Malangas town.

Jenelyn Gerra, 23, a wife of an OFW, and the other members of the family were asleep when the suspect barged in and carted away P253,000 cash, jewelry with an estimated value of P52,000 and other valuables to include automated teller machine (ATM) cards.

The suspect identified as Saha Isnain, 18, gained entry through the kitchen of the victim’s house.

Bael said the responding policemen have recovered a canoe, a paddle, and a flashlight which were abandoned by the suspect at the shore near the residence of the victim.###
